When Shona Sutton isn’t caring for the elderly or studying for her degree in Adult Nursing, you’ll find her running around Harris as she trains for this year's London Marathon, which will take place on October 2nd.
Stornoway-born Shona is set to run the London Marathon with the aim of raising as much money as possible for the British Heart Foundation. Shona says: “Our family have been affected by heart disease over the years. Some might have still been here today if the advances in technology we now have had happened earlier.” So it is for those she’s lost, and those who have been saved by these medical advances, that she has pushed herself to train through this rather inclement Hebridean summer - and why she’ll be running 26 miles around London next month.
At time of writing, Shona has raised almost £1,000 for the BHF. If you would like to support her efforts, please donate at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/shona-sutton2?fbclid=IwAR1mnJBHOSrVx7qBUQfio2W3OpGHsNOR8I--vHrUmlVidVV-dRnDd5ONhrc
