The Yellow weather alert for ice in the Western isles has been extended into tomorrow (Monday January 2, 2023)

The alert covers all the Western Isles.

Rain, sleet and snow is expected to ease during Sunday leaving surfaces wet and with a cold night to come this is likely to lead to icy stretches forming widely on untreated surfaces across Scotland.

In addition some further sleet/snow showers are possible overnight for parts of the west and south though ice remains the main hazard, says the UK Met Office.

Icy stretches are likely to form on Sunday evening.

With today being the New Year bank holiday, there are no ferry services and no airline services so there's less disruption anyway!
