Western Isles Libraries were today (Friday 13 January) celebrating two decades of dedication to readers, as mobile librarian Donald Ewen Morrison marked his 20th work anniversary.

Donald Ewen operates the Uist Mobile Service Librarian and, said the library service, has worked tirelessly through all these years to make a difference in the lives of mobile library users.

In 2013 he was named 'mobile library champion' at an awards ceremony hosted by CILIP, the library and information association institute.

Uist residents were quick to add to the applause for a man they described as ‘a lovely gentle giant.’
