Pier replacement

The Comhairle has submitted a formal planning application for consent to replace Pier Acarsaid Mhor on Eriskay.

Planning permission is being sought to replace the timber pier with a new larger steel pile and reinforced concrete pier and realign the existing pontoon system.

The new pier for fishing boats and leisure craft will extend to 100 square metres compared to the existing 65 square metre pier.

A scoping request submitted last year concluded that no Environmental Impact Assessment was required.
