The lifeguards at Liniclate Sports Centre are to raise funds for the Western Isles Cancer Care Initiative by doing a 24-hour sponsored swim.
The pool marathon is to get underway at 5.30 pm on Sunday, March 26 and continue through the night until 5.30 pm on Monday.
Eight lifeguards will swim in relay over the course of 24 hours.
And to add a bit of fun, they have set themselves the target of swimming 99 miles, the equivalent of the ferry routes between Uig and Lochmaddy and Lochboisdale to Mallaig.
An appeal on crowdfunder.co.uk has set a fundraising target of £500.
