Outer Hebrides Tourism is to take over the production of the Made in the Outer Hebrides guide to local artists and makers.

The new guide will include visual artists, photographers, makers, art and craft organisations, galleries, cafes/restaurants exhibiting local art and shops selling local art and crafts.

Previously, the publication was issued by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, but the guide has not been updated since 2018.

The Comhairle has confirmed they have no updating plans.

However, Outer Hebrides Tourism announced they would publish a new 2023 version.

Mairi Thomson of Outer Hebrides Tourism commented: “We are hopeful that if there is sufficient interest, we can produce a new online Arts and Crafts guide in a downloadable format and will be exploring the viability of a print copy in the future.”

A Made in the Outer Hebrides website is also under consideration.
