Comhairle nan Eilean Siar will be commencing the annual surface dressing programme of works on Tuesday 9 May 2023 for approximately six to eight weeks across the Western Isles.
Works will commence in the Lewis and Harris area for four weeks before operations move to Uist for weeks weeks on the 5 June, then returning to Harris.
Traffic management and warning signs will be in place and the travelling public are asked to take heed of the warnings and temporary speed limits.
All works are dry weather dependent and are subject to delays or cancellations.
Works locations include B895 Gress and Coll; Cross Skigersta area Ness; Melbost Borve area; A857 Barvas Moor; A858 Brue, Breasclete, Tolstachaolais; B8011 Uig Bends; A857 Laxdale School; A859 Cameron Terrace; sections of the A859 West side of Harris and sections of the A865 in North and South Uist. Drivers should allow additional time for travelling whilst works are in these areas to allow for expected delays.
