Clean Coast Hebrides are putting a new twist on the well-worn beach clean by attempting to make a Lewis chess piece from the trash they find on Ardroil beach.

The Uig beach was where the world-famous chessmen were found. But now it is hoped to add to their ranks by creating a brand new chess piece out of marine litter.

The beach clean and beach art day are planned for Saturday, June 10, at 2 pm.

The meet-up and sign-in point is Clean Coast Hebrides’s display trailer, which will be in the Ardroil beach car park several hundred metres from the shore.
