The Wee West Summer Festival - a celebration of community summer and music - is all set for this weekend.

Now in its third year, the festival begins on Friday (June 8) at the Shawbost Centre with a ceilidh dance.

Saturday sees a range of events, some free, including talks, a museum visit, candle making, and open croft and weaving shed visits.

At 3 pm, there is a free acoustic music session, then a hotpot from 5 pm to 6 pm.

On Sunday, there’s a Singing on the Shore praise event at 10 am.

Tickets for the ceilidh dance, Saturday’s Coffee ‘n’ Cake, and Hotpot are available from and the Shawbost post office. Weekend and family tickets are available. Tickets, if available, can be bought at the door but will have a £2 surcharge.

The first Wee West was a housewarming and was a small affair due to the weather. The second festival was a one-nighter in the Shawbost Old School Centre. And this year, the festival has grown to encompass the entire weekend.
