Student from UHI Outer Hebrides Fashion, Jewellery and Hair & Beauty courses came together to create a show at Lews Castle on Monday night (6 June).

The event was designed and produced by the students and welcomed a sold-out audience to the Castle's Ball Room for Hebridean cocktails and couture.

The event featured models from the Nicolson Institute who wore the designs of the students and walked the catwalk as part of the event.

Each model was styled by the students, with unique collections of clothing and jewellery and complimenting hair and makeup.

Alison Macdonald Head of English at the Nicolson Institute, said, “This event showcases the range of creative talent from our islands. We have seen work from students who have joined the course from Stornoway, America, and France.

"They have shown the creative talent that is embedded in our local culture and demonstrate that pathways to creative careers can be found right here in the Outer Hebrides.

Fashion Course Leader Netty Sopata added; “We could not be prouder of our students. The hard work and dedication they have put into the show has been wonderful. We must also thank our sponsors The Isle of Harris Distillery and The Harris Tweed Authority for supporting the event."
