Harris Gun Club member John Hughson is representing Scotland at the ICTSC National Skeet Home Countries International Tournament this weekend in Aughnacloy, County Tyrone, and the photographs show some scenes from today's events.

Earlier the club announced how proud it was that John,  aged 16, was on the 2017 Scottish Shooting Team.

Earlier in the summer John competed in the Scottish Open National Skeet competition on August 6th, 2017 and hit 96 of the 100 clays. Although he was placed 8th out of 79 shooters, John won the Scottish Junior High Gun (closed trophy) and came 2nd in B Class (not restricted to juniors only).

John also competed in the Scottish Open Skeet Doubles 05/08/17 scoring 96 points out of a possible 100. Although placed 5th out of 48 shooters, John came 1st in C Class.

However, John also finished joined equal for the overall competitions high-gun, but was not available to attend the shoot-off which then by default went to the other high scoring competitor.

This is the second year that John has made it onto the Scottish NSK Junior Team.

John took up the sport of clay target shooting at the age of 12 in 2013, the same year that Harris Gun Club relocated from Urgha to Aline Forest.
