Malcolm and Janet Paterson present the Lottery funding cheque to Lucy, Eilidh and Alison

Funding from the Western Isles Lottery is to be used to by the young people of North Lochs to set up a monthly Soup and Pudding Café for the more mature members of their community.

Malcolm and Janet Paterson from the Western Isles Lottery Team were delighted to recently present the North Lochs young people with a cheque for £760.80 towards the new venture in the area's community centre.

The funding was raised from Lottery Supporters within Area 3 – Uig/Breascelte/Lochs – and the use of Lottery funds match the fundraising criteria for enhancing ‘Amenities in the Community’ as well as linking in with The Year of Youth 2018, and bringing different age groups together in a social setting.

Lucy Macdonald, Eilidh Wilson, and Alison Matheson proudly accepted the Western Isles Lottery funding on behalf of the Community Centre and the Lottery Team wish them well with their new venture which has the potential to expand over time.

The next period of funding is identified for the new Keose/Keose Glebe Playpark, soon to be opened to the public.

And further applications are invited from across the area for consideration.
