Several ferry sailings today Tuesday October 16th are cancelled, or are deemed liable to cancellation or disruption because of incoming poor weather conditions with winds of up to 50 knots , according to CalMac Ferries.
In Stornoway, the first rotation of sailings - 7 am from Stornoway and 10.30am from Ullapool - were cancelled last night and today, the remainder of the sailings were cancelled.
As of 10am, CalMac say the overnight ferry sailing is expected to be sailing as scheduled.
Also cancelled this morning were the first sailings on the Sound of Harris route. Further sailings went ahead.
Salings on the routes from Uig to Tarbert and Lochmaddy have been thrown into confusion by cancellations today (Tuesday October 16th)
Today, as a result of sea swell conditions with high winds, MV Hebrides operated the following amended timetable:
Tarbert - Uig: 15:00
Uig - Lochmaddy: 17:30
The 16:15 sailing from Lochmaddy-Uig has been cancelled.
On Wednesday 17th October, as s a result of the cancelled sailings on Tuesday 16th October, the vessel will be out of position.
Therefore an amended timetable will operate as below:
05:30 Lochmaddy - 07:15 Uig (Traffic from the cancelled Tues 16th 1615 will be transferred onto this sailing)
07:45 Uig - 09:25 Tarbert (Traffic from the cancelled Tues 16th 1800 will be transferred onto this sailing)
09:55 Tarbert- 11:35 Uig (delayed Wed 0720)
12:05 Uig - 13:50 Lochmaddy (delayed Wed 0930)
14:20 Lochmaddy - 16:05 Uig (delayed Wed 1145)
16:35 Uig- 18:15 Tarbert (delayed Wed 1410)
18:45 Tarbert- 2025 Uig (delayed Wed 1620)
20:50 Uig- 22:35 Lochmaddy (delayed 1930)
Thursday 18th October
As a result of the amended timetable on Wednesday 17th, the fuel delivery has had to be rescheduled.
This means that the 18:30 sailing from Uig-Tarbert will now depart at 19:30.
An amended timetable is operating between Oban and Castlebay on Tuesday while Lochboisdale to Mallaig sailings - along with sailings from Mallaig to Armadale - have been cancelled for the day. Ferries to Colonsay were also cancelled.
