Staff at the Woodlands café in Lews Castle grounds started their week tidying up the mess left behind by other people.

A large amount of broken glass was discovered this morning (Monday November 19th) as staff arrived to open up the café ahead of business.

The broken bottles had been left scattered around the entrance to the car park, in the area where a water bowl is placed for dog walkers, forcing the café to post a warning notice on social media for early visitors.

A café spokesman told this morning: “There were quite a number of bottles smashed over the weekend around the car park entrance, but we have been out cleaning up and it’s all cleared away now.”
