Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses following a serious one vehicle road traffic collision in Stornoway.
The incident involved a black Yamaha XT660X motorcycle and happened sometime before 7.40am on Sunday, February 17 on Mossend Road in Stornoway.
The 37-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to Western Isles Hospital before being transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
His injuries are serious but are not thought to be life-threatening.
The roadway - pictured above - was closed all day for investigations.
Road policing officer Constable David Miller said: "We are working to establish the full circumstances of this collision and would urge anyone who has information to come forward.
"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have seen the motorcycle on the roads before the collision.
"In particular we would ask anyone who was on the roads in the early hours of Sunday morning to think back and if you have dashcam please review and report anything of note to us."
