Tickets released for a last-minute gig by the Stornoway sensations Peat & Diesel sold out within 60 seconds yesterday evening (Monday January 6th).
The extra concert, at the Arch Inn in Ullapool, was slotted in for this Saturday after tickets for all nine gigs on the London to Scotland tour sold out.
Tickets went on sale via TicketWeb at 5pm yesterday – and were gone by 5.01pm. A spokesman for the venue said: “Well, that was quick, Peat & Diesel's show on Saturday night at The Arch sold out in 60 seconds. Congratulations and we'll see you Saturday to those who got their hands on some and commiserations to those that missed out.”
Meanwhile the band’s online shop here has been restocked with merchandise including hoodies and t-shirts for kids and adults. Every item had sold out by January 2nd, with a frantic scramble to re-order stock as the band realised demand far outstripped supply.
In their last social media post of the day yesterday, the band said: “We really struggle for time these days with work commitments but we are going to give it everything this year and we are going to play and keep playing and play again and put on more gigs and more playing and less sleep and more fuel and more playing and a bit more playing then 10 minutes of sleep then more playing and more gigs until we completely run out of Diesel then we will push the van if we have to and play again and again and again until we can’t turn another wheel!
“Thanks for putting up with us.”
