More than 20 local businesspeople gathered at the Harris & Lewis Smokehouse for the Outer Hebrides Chamber of Commerce’s first networking event of the new decade!

It was held on Friday 10th January, 12:30pm to 2:00pm as part a series of Chamber

Events.  They say: “Our networking events are a great opportunity to raise the profile of your business and make new connections.”

They told both members and non-members: “Bring along your business cards and join like-minded business owners for a relaxed lunch at Harris & Lewis Smokehouse where you can share knowledge and broaden your contacts.

The event had been planned for around 15 people but far more turned up and the Smokehouse reorganised the seating to accommodate them.

They were welcome by Gerry Corish, general manager.  He explained how the 44-seat Smokehouse restaurant opened just over a year ago.  He said companies were welcome to book it for lunchtime events of this type.  “We are delighted to host the Chamber of Commerce here,” he said.

The tickets cost £16 for Chamber members and £22 for non-members.
