Local community groups are urged to make their applications as The Outer Hebrides LEADER 2014-202 Programme is delighted to announce another round of funding.
With a closing date for applications on Wednesday, February 14th, 2018, projects must demonstrate innovative solutions to support community and economic development in the Outer Hebrides; and ideally projects should have match funding in place by the application submission deadline.
Works previously supported by LEADER funding include the Harris Marina Hub, which is developing marinas in Tarbert and Scalpay; the Huisinis Gateway project; Trix Pix Multimedia Studio and Marketing Campaign, and the Ploycrub Project operated by Hebridean Castle Trading.
Applications for the next round of funding are invited for projects which must not have started yet, show that the will benefit the local community, be completely different to what the enterprise is already offering, and not displace other existing businesses.
LEADER can support both capital and revenue projects, including new products and services, initiatives and creating new networking opportunities.
And projects which aim to develop networking opportunities and learn new skills from their counterparts in other LEADER areas in Scotland, UK, Europe and further afield can also be considered, with separate funding available to support these.
Co-operation projects can focus on any sector and will attract a higher intervention rate if assisted.
Prospective applicants should initially submit an expression of interest through the LEADER website at www.outerhebridesleader.co.uk, where further information can also be found. A LEADER officer will then be in touch to discuss the proposal, its eligibility and the next steps to take.
