Western Isles residents are being advised of high winds expected tomorrow as the Met Office issues a Yellow Warning for between 1am and 2pm on Wednesday, January 24th.
A spell of windy weather is expected with gusts widely 50 to 60mph, although over the Hebrides and northern and western parts of Highland, gusts are likely to reach 70 to 80mph.
The Met Office advises that the high winds may affect some bus services and some short-term loss of power and other services is possible.
The Chief Forecaster’s assessment states: “Over western Scotland, including the Western Isles, the highest winds are expected to be late in the night and early on Wednesday morning and thus coincide with the morning rush hour.
“By late morning and early afternoon the highest winds will be confined to the far north of mainland Scotland, Orkney and Shetland.”
