Isla talks about her work with the Williams Formula 1 Team

A former pupil of The Nicolson Institute, Isla Mackenzie, talks about her work for the Williams Formula 1 Team.
Isla, who studied Engineering at Lews Castle College before taking up a Motor Sport Engineering Degree at the University of West Scotland, speaks on the Dare To Be Different Facebook page ( about her work as a Prototype & Testing Technician in Wantage, England.
“I work with the engineers developing things and also test everything routinely after each race,” she explains, before telling how she ended up in her dream job.

Date To Be Different (D2BD) is an initiative aimed at increasing female participation in motor racing – not just on the track but in all aspects of the sport, and other perceived male-dominated industries – by creating an expansive online community and bringing young girls together with some of the sports’ most inspiring women.
