A £100,000 cash pot is waiting to help local organisations lay the groundwork for large-scale projects with wide-reaching community benefits.

The Design Grant money is held by the Outer Hebrides Community Led Local Development Local Action Group (OH CLLD LAG).

And they have now invited applications to help lever further funding for community projects. The deadline is Friday, August 18.

A spokesperson said: “In total £100,000 of funding will be available which can cover revenue costs incurred in progressing a project to a capital investment stage, such as undertaking feasibility studies, commissioning professional architect drawings or environmental impact studies, or to buy in expertise, help build capacity and develop the project through mentoring, improved networking and collaboration.

“All funding will have to be spent and works completed by Friday 1st March 2024 at the latest.”

The Design Grant is the main funding during 2023/24 for community led local development.
