The cryptic clue hunters were right! Among the line-up announced for the 2024 Eilean Dorcha Festival is Belgian electro dance outfit Ian Van Dahl.

Earlier this week, the EDF organisers trailered today's lineup announcement with a seemingly throwaway line saying,  “We think you’ve all waited long enough...Oh, tell me why…”

Among the possibilities being touted as solutions to the cryptic clue were American rock musician Chris Isaak, Ian Van Dahl, the Belgian vocal trance and Eurodance music project which seemed like a good fit for EDF, and the extreme long shot, the late Bing Crosby, who had a 1954 hit with Oh, Tell Me Why.

Joining the no- confirmed Belgian superstars are the best of Scottish talent, including Tide Lines, returning for the first time since 2017,  and the ever-popular Skerryvore and Mànran.

Also appearing are Cammy Barnes, The Eves, Project Smok, Valtos, Rob Muir, Benbeula’s Beinn Lee and Live Act of the Year, Trail West.

Festival veteran George Bowie is also making a return visit along with newcomers Ultrabeat, Saint PHNX, DJ Sparkos, Ali McFly and QFX.

And popping up as before are Alex & Friends and the man of the moment, double Gold Medallist Ruairidh Gray.

Tickets are on sale now from www.edffestival.com/book-tickets. Earlybird tickets have already sold out.
