Ceòlas has announced a creative residency for singers and tune writers in May.

The bilingual weekend (Friday, May 17-Sunday, May 19) at Cnoc Soilleir will be led by Dr Alasdair C. Whyte and Dr Pàdruig Moireasdan. They will work with the participants to create and develop songs and tunes.

Dr Pàdruig Morrison hails from Grimsay and is a contemporary composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He is one of the founding members of the acclaimed band Beinn Lee and is steeped in Gaelic oral tradition and folklore.

Dr Alasdair C. Whyte is a Research Fellow in Celtic and Gaelic within the School of Humanities at the University of Glasgow. He hails from the Isle of Mull and is an acclaimed Gaelic singer, poet, songwriter, arranger and presenter. He has a keen interest in folklore, linguistics, literature and song.
