A second passive acoustic monitoring system has been deployed in the Spiorad na Mara Windfarm sea area.

The equipment is scheduled to be deployed for an estimated nine months.

The Scottish Association for Marine Science, using the vessel Lochlann, placed the first monitoring device on January 11 this year.

It was serviced last week using the Seatrek vessel MV Challenger, which deployed the second device.

The PAM positions will be posted on the Kingfisher Bulletin and KIS-ORCA websites for the duration of the deployment.
