A three-day feast of original music is on the menu for Stornoway in mid-September.

Aonadh –  Hebridean Songwriting Festival is a brand new festival celebrating the enduring tradition of island music.

From Thursday, September 17 to September 19, An Lanntair will host emerging and established singer-songwriters for three days of live music, intimate performances, workshops, film and creative collaboration.

An Lanntair said: “Audiences can enjoy headline performances alongside unique opportunities to hear new music in development, while aspiring songwriters will be able to learn from experienced artists through peer exchange and workshops exploring songwriting craft, lyric writing and performance.

“Based at An Lanntair, Aonadh aims to strengthen the platform for original music in the islands, support local talent, foster new creative partnerships and attract visitors to the Outer Hebrides for a distinctive cultural experience rooted in place, language and creativity.”
