      North & West Lewis News

Residents, businesses and community organisations in Stornoway and Lewis are being urged to complete a new survey that will help shape future investment and regeneration priorities for the area through the Pride In Place programme.

The survey is part of the UK Government’s 10‑year Pride In Place initiative, designed to bring long‑term investment directly into communities. For Stornoway and Lewis, the scheme could deliver up to £20million to support local regeneration projects and community‑led initiatives.

A local Investment Plan is now being developed, and the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board is seeking views on what matters most to people living and working in the area.

The survey will gather information on a range of issues, helping to identify priorities for future projects, investment opportunities and actions that can enhance quality of life, strengthen communities and support economic prosperity. The feedback received through the survey will help inform the development of an Investment Plan for submission to the UK Government in November 2026.

The Board says the survey will give residents a genuine opportunity to influence decisions about improvements that could make the greatest difference to local communities in the years ahead.

Pride In Place will cover the following council ward areas: Stornoway North and South, Westside and Ness, Uig and Carloway and Lochs. However, everyone with an interest in the future of Stornoway and Lewis is encouraged to take a few minutes to complete the survey.

As many people as possible are being encouraged to take part, with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar stressing that the programme's success depends on local voices being heard.
