Following years of frustration over the ferry passenger access system being broken in Stornoway, travellers have been faced with a broken gangway in Ullapool too.
CalMac bosses confirmed the system failure today (Friday) and said they hoped it would be repaired by the middle of next week.
A spokesman for the ferry operator said: "We can confirm the PAS at Ullapool is inoperable and that Ullapool Harbour Trust is working at pace to repair it.
"Due to the requirement to re-assemble, calibrate and commission the section which requires repairs, the current timeline for the PAS to return to operation is by the middle of next week.
"We apologise for any disruption this causes to customers."
Angry passengers took to social media to share their frustration.
One said: "Unbelievable. Not only have foot passengers on the Stornoway to Ullapool ferry had to get on and off via the car deck at Stornoway for the past couple of years because the gangway thing no longer works, but now it's the same on the Ullapool side! Which is even more difficult."
