Job Title: Cleaner
Employer:  West Harris Trust
Location:  Isle of Harris
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours:   From 9am Monday-Friday plus occasional weekend holiday cover
October-March – minimum 2.5hrs/day
April-September – minimum 6hrs/day
For the right candidate, additional and/or flexible hours will be considered.
Salary: £10/hour plus 6% employers pension contribution
Mileage: Mileage between sites will be reimbursed at a rate of £0.45p per mile

Job Purpose

The West Harris Trust (WHT) is looking to recruit a hardworking and motivated individual to carry out daily cleaning and routine checks at its community enterprise centre, Talla na Mara and campervan hook-up sites at Pairc Niseaboist and Seilebost.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be employed to carry out the specific tasks as set out below.

  • Daily cleaning of facilities at Talla na Mara, Pairc Niseaboist and Seilebost to a high standard, ensuring an exceptional level of customer satisfaction.
  • Perform and document routine safety checks.
  • Adhere to Company health and safety policies, including the safe use of chemicals and equipment and Covid-19 hygiene measures.
  • Any other task as directed by Trust management.

Essential Criteria

  • Be self-motivated, reliable and trustworthy, able to work independently, but also as part of a small team.
  • Able to follow instruction and work to a schedule, whilst also being proactive.
  • Strong people and communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Access to a vehicle and hold a current driving licence.
  • Previous experience in a similar role desirable, however full training will be given.
