The National 5 Gateway course is designed to provide you with the opportunity to gain the necessary qualifications to progress into Further Education, to return to the workplace, or prepare for a career change. There is the added flexibility of studying on a full-time or part-time basis.
This programme is equally suitable for 16-19 year olds and adult learners, and will open doors to new opportunities. Students may select up to 3 National 5s (in Maths, English, Gaelic (Learners), Gàidhlig, Physics, Psychology, History, Administration and IT, and Care) and everyone will be offered advice and guidance in making their subject choices.
In addition, students will complete Essential Skills activities and develop employability skills and IT skills through undertaking BCS (British Computing Society) units.
Alongside progression into work, depending on the level of National Courses studied, students can progress to further study at SCQF level 6, for example Highers Academy.
