Social housing landlord Hebridean Housing Partnership held its 20th Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 26 August.

The hybrid meeting took place in Stornoway Town Hall and on MS Teams.

Chairperson Calum Mackay welcomed all in attendance and thanked everyone, including staff, partners, contractors and tenants, for their contribution over the last year and highlighted the important work carried out by HHP over the past 20 years.

The Membership present approved two resolutions.

These were to appoint CT Audit as HHP’s External Auditor until the next General Meeting and to donate £5,000 of the surplus at 31 March 2026 to five local charities.

The charities are: MND Scotland, Confide Western Isles, Western Isles Cancer Care Initiative, Hebridean Mountain Rescue Team and Neuro Hebrides.

Following the close of official business, Eilidh Izat, an architect and winner of the RIBA House of the Year 2025, presented architectural examples from Norway and their own housing experience to illustrate how communal living, prefabricated timber construction, reuse and early collaboration can support affordable and sustainable housing.

At the board meeting following the AGM, Calum Mackay was re-elected as HHP Chair. Helen Mackenzie was re-elected to the position of Vice Chair, and Iain Mackinnon was appointed as Board Member.
